Anthropic's initial public offering is targeted for the week of November 16, according to market data. The San Francisco-based developer of the Claude AI models filed its S-1 registration statement on Monday, October 26, 2026, for a listing on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker "ANT." No price range has been set yet, market reports said.
The filing showed first-half 2026 revenue of $16.3 billion and a first-half net loss of $80.7 billion, about $72 billion of which is non-cash and tied to convertible notes, according to market data aggregation of coverage. The offering could raise up to $100 billion. The company was valued at $965 billion in May.
What has to happen first
Before shares can trade, a company typically sets a price range, markets the stock to institutional investors and then prices the deal on the eve of the debut. A mid-November target leaves a few weeks for that process to unfold.
Those weeks are packed with events that could move the market. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) reports quarterly results on Monday, November 2. The midterm elections take place on Tuesday, November 3, with Democrats widely predicted to win the House and the Senate more in doubt, according to market data. ISM Manufacturing and services surveys arrive during the week, and the October jobs report follows on Friday, November 6.
Politics could touch AI directly. An Investment manager said of a possible Democratic sweep: "I think that will be seen as negative for both the AI names". Investors are also watching state and local races, including in Texas, for implications for data-center development.
A tougher backdrop
When Anthropic filed, the market cheered. market data credited the S-1 with helping lift the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq early in the week. By Friday, October 30, 2026, the picture had reversed. The Nasdaq Composite fell 747.73 points to 25,437.00, its worst day since June 5, and the S&P 500 lost 140.32 points to 7,580.07.
Intel (NASDAQ:INTC)'s cash-burn warning, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN)'s negative trailing free Cash Flow of $42.4 billion and continued fallout from Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL)'s record one-day drop on Thursday drove the selling. The Nasdaq ended October with its worst month since March 2025, and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq posted a third straight weekly decline, according to market data.
Interest rates are another variable. The Federal Reserve, led by Chair Kevin Warsh, held rates steady at its October 27-28 meeting in a 10-2 vote, with two dissenters preferring a hike. Futures markets now price in a December increase. St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem said Friday: "I judge that additional firming of Monetary Policy will be necessary, and soon." Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin added: "I think the question though is pace."
Warsh himself has declined to signal the next move. "I don't believe in forward guidance absent exigent circumstances, absent a crisis," he said at his press conference.
Another big listing as a reference point
Another recent mega-listing offers a cautionary example. SpaceX (NASDAQ:SPCX), which trades on the Nasdaq as SPCX, is now below a $2 trillion Market Value and more than $400 billion off its October 6 high, according to market data. Its shares fell on Friday after a lockup release.
What to watch
The first concrete signal will be the price range, which would show how Anthropic and its underwriters read Demand after the selloff. Beyond that, the mid-November window will be shaped by Apple's results, the midterm vote, the jobs report and the Fed's December outlook. Any change to the targeted week would likely come alongside an updated filing.
