Leading aircraft leasing company BOC Aviation has finalized a firm order for 50 Boeing 737-8 jets, further expanding its 737 MAX portfolio. This latest agreement brings the company’s total orders to 215 aircraft, reinforcing its position in the growing single-aisle aircraft segment.
The deal also increases BOC Aviation’s order book of unfilled Boeing aircraft to 139, as the company continues to align with rising airline demand for fuel-efficient, next-generation aircraft.
Strategic Expansion Amid Rising Demand
BOC Aviation currently has 69 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on operating leases, serving over 15 airlines globally. With single-aisle jets projected to account for 75% of global aircraft deliveries over the next 20 years, lessors are ramping up acquisitions to meet airline fleet expansion and replace aging aircraft.
To date, lessors worldwide have ordered over 1,200 Boeing 737 MAX jets, as airlines prepare to phase out up to 300 older Next-Generation 737s per year by the end of the decade.

The 737-8 model is a highly versatile single-aisle aircraft, seating between 162 and 210 passengers, depending on configuration. With a range of up to 3,500 nautical miles (6,480 km), it is ideal for short- and medium-haul routes, offering airlines enhanced efficiency and cost savings.
