APA Corporation (Nasdaq: APA) shares were trading at USD 51.90 on October 23, 2026, up 4.98%. On October 7, 2026, the oil and gas producer released preliminary supplemental information regarding certain third-quarter 2026 operational and financial estimates, ahead of its scheduled earnings call on November 5, 2026.
APA Corporation owns consolidated subsidiaries that explore for and produce oil and natural gas in the United States, Egypt and the United Kingdom, and that explore for oil and natural gas offshore Suriname and elsewhere. The company described the figures below as current estimates intended to assist investors and analysts in formulating their own projections ahead of final third-quarter results, cautioning that actual results may vary materially pending completion of its financial reporting process.
Preliminary Pricing Estimates Point to Firmer Realizations
APA estimated average third-quarter 2026 realized prices in the United States of $87.50 per barrel for oil, $26.00 per barrel for natural gas liquids, and $1.45 per Mcf for natural gas. Internationally, the company estimated realized prices of $98.50 per barrel for oil, $155.00 per barrel for natural gas liquids, and $5.00 per Mcf for natural gas; APA noted that the increase in the international NGL price compared with prior quarters primarily reflects low volumes and the timing of revenue recognition. The company also estimated Egypt tax barrels of 36 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, dry hole costs before tax of $25 million, and a net gain on oil and gas purchases and sales before tax of $190 million, which includes an $8 million realized gain from commodity derivatives.
Buybacks Continue Alongside Elevated Stock-Based Compensation
APA said its estimated weighted-average basic common shares outstanding for the third quarter are 348 million, and that it repurchased 10.5 million shares at an average price of $42.78 per share during the quarter. The company also estimated general and administrative expenses of approximately $115 million for the quarter, including $56 million of stock-based compensation, which it said largely reflects the mark-to-market impact of APA’s share price during the period rather than new equity grants.
Full Third-Quarter Results Pending
APA was explicit that the figures disclosed represent only preliminary estimates of certain items expected to affect third-quarter 2026 results and are not intended as a comprehensive presentation of all factors affecting the quarter. The company scheduled a conference call for 10 a.m. Central time on November 5, 2026, to discuss its complete third-quarter results, which will be webcast from its investor relations website, with a replay available for one year following the call.
