APA Corporation (NASDAQ:APA) shares were trading near their 52-week high at USD 49.76 on October 21, 2026, down 0.27%. The oil and gas producer issued supplemental estimates for its third quarter of 2026 in a Form 8-K on October 7 and announced that it will report full quarterly results on November 5.
Based in Houston, Texas, the company is a Delaware corporation whose subsidiaries explore for and produce oil and natural gas in the United States, Egypt and the United Kingdom. The company also explores for oil and natural gas offshore Suriname and elsewhere. Its common stock, with a par value of $0.625, is listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market, and its fiscal year ends December 31.
Estimated Third-Quarter Realized Prices
The October 7 release is a supplement, not a full earnings report. The company said it was meant to give additional detail on current management estimates for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, and that it does not cover every factor affecting results. All figures remain subject to the finalization of the financial reporting process.
For the United States, the company estimated average realized prices of $87.50 per barrel of oil, $26.00 per barrel of natural gas liquids (NGL) and $1.45 per thousand cubic feet (Mcf) of natural gas. For its international operations, the estimates were $98.50 per barrel of oil, $155.00 per barrel of NGL and $5.00 per Mcf of gas. The company noted that the international NGL figure reflects low volumes and the timing of revenue recognition, and it is higher than in prior quarters.
Egypt tax barrels were estimated at 36 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBoe/d).
Gains, Costs and Share Repurchases
Management estimated dry hole costs of $25 million before tax for the quarter. It also estimated a net gain on oil and gas purchases and sales of $190 million before tax, which includes an $8 million realized gain from commodity derivatives.
General and administrative expenses totaled about $115 million in the third quarter. That figure includes $56 million of stock-based compensation, most of which the company said reflects mark-to-market effects of its share price during the quarter.
On capital returns, the company repurchased 10.5 million shares during the third quarter at an average price of $42.78 per share. It estimated weighted-average basic common shares outstanding for the quarter at 348 million.
Results Call and What Comes Next
The company will host a conference call on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 10 a.m. Central time to discuss third quarter results. A webcast will be available on its website and its investor relations site, and a replay will remain on the Investors page for one year.
The release does not provide guidance for the fourth quarter or for the full year, and it gives no updated production, capital spending or exploration plans. The estimates above are forward-looking statements that management said could differ materially from final results because of quarter-end closing procedures, the final determination of realized prices, final accruals and estimates for costs and taxes, and subsequent events. Full third quarter results are due with the November 5 call.
