What Moved the Fund
The fund rose 16.02% in the October 22, 2026 session, implying Sandisk fell about 8.0%. Sandisk had already fallen about 20% in October through October 15, after Chinese memory maker ChangXin announced DRAM design progress on October 10 and 11, and on top of profit-taking. On October 22 the selloff broadened. Lam Research (NASDAQ:LRCX) posted record revenue of USD 8.22 billion on October 21, 2026, then fell about 9% on October 22 after guiding December-quarter revenue to USD 8.6 billion, plus or minus USD 400 million, and citing Supply constraints. Sandisk, Advanced Micro Devices and Intel fell roughly 4% to 5% in premarket trading, and Micron fell too. Sandisk's close on October 15 was USD 1,394.83.
Sandisk Fundamentals
Sandisk (NASDAQ:SNDK) reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of USD 8.965 billion, with datacenter revenue of USD 2.977 billion, up 103% sequentially, and non-GAAP EPS of USD 39.25. Guidance for the quarter ending September 2026 is non-GAAP EPS of USD 44 to USD 46 and gross margin of 83% to 85%. TrendForce expects NAND contract prices to rise 15% to 20% in the fourth quarter. Sandisk holds no Debt and has USD 15.5 billion of buyback authorization. Its record high was USD 2,354.39 on June 22, 2026, and the stock was about 41% below that on October 15. Investor Day targets on August 13 include about 80% non-GAAP gross margin and about 50% free Cash Flow margin over fiscal 2028 to 2030.
Mechanics and Risks
SNDQ launched on April 22, 2026, trades on Cboe BZX and charges 1.49%. It targets minus 2x of Sandisk's daily return through swaps and resets daily. If Sandisk rose 10% then fell 10%, the stock would end down 1.0% while the fund would end down 4.0%, simple arithmetic. Sandisk moved 5% or more on many days in 2026, and fell 47% in July alone, so Volatility drag is severe. A beat on October 29 could send the stock sharply higher, and a one-day gain above 50% would erase the fund. Swap financing costs add to the stated fee. At about USD 128 million in Assets it is liquid enough for active traders, yet still small beside large ETFs.
Where Things Stand
Tradr 2X Short SNDK Daily ETF (CBOE:SNDQ) jumped because Sandisk fell about 8.0% as the AI selloff and Chinese DRAM news hit memory stocks, and the fund pays twice the inverse. Fundamentals remain exceptional, with an 84.6% gross margin and rising contract prices, but the stock has already fallen sharply from its June high and the October 29 results are the real test. The result could reverse the fund's gain, up or down, within a session.
