Ecovyst Inc. The acquisition, carried out through Ecovyst's wholly-owned subsidiary, Eco Services Operations Corp., is seen as a significant move to expand the company’s capacity in the sulfuric acid market.

Kurt J. Bitting, CEO of Ecovyst, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, noting the company’s expectation that the integration of the Waggaman assets would enhance network flexibility and improve supply reliability for customers. With this addition, Ecovyst aims to better serve the anticipated growth in demand for virgin sulfuric acid and sulfuric acid regeneration services in the coming years.

The acquisition supports Ecovyst’s strategy of expanding its global footprint in the sulfuric acid industry, an essential component in various industrial and mining processes. The company’s integrated approach includes not only sulfuric acid services but also specialty catalysts and materials that are integral to refining, petrochemical, and industrial sectors.
