GXO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: GXO) has announced a new strategic partnership with Hisense, a global leader in consumer electronics and home appliances. Under the agreement, GXO will manage logistics operations at Hisense’s new 36,000-square-meter facility located in Albuixech, Valencia. The site will focus on distribution, returns, repacking, and other value-added services such as repalletization.
This partnership enhances GXO's presence in the Mediterranean region, providing Hisense with access to a key location that features direct access to the Mediterranean corridor and a nearby harbor. The facility is capable of handling over 700,000 units per year, marking a significant step in the companies’ collaboration.
The two companies worked quickly to establish operations at the new site, with GXO implementing solutions to improve productivity and inventory accuracy. In just two months, the logistics provider managed to streamline the handling of bulky and delicate products, reducing breakage rates and increasing overall efficiency.
Sustainability also plays a significant role in the partnership. GXO’s Spanish operations run on 100% renewable energy, use LED lighting, and have achieved an 82% landfill diversion rate through recycling. In collaboration with Hisense, GXO is also adopting eco-friendly packaging solutions to reduce waste in the logistics process.
Indalecio López, Service and Logistics Director at Hisense Iberia, highlighted the importance of GXO’s logistics experience and knowledge of the Spanish market in supporting Hisense’s mission of providing innovative technology to improve customers' quality of life. With GXO managing key logistics functions, the companies are working together to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the supply chain.
