What Marriott Reports and the Bar to Clear

Marriott International (NASDAQ:MAR) is scheduled to release results before the market opens on November 2, 2026. Consensus adjusted EPS of USD 2.86 is above the top of the company USD 2.74 to USD 2.82 guide, a high bar. Revenue consensus of about USD 7.04 billion implies roughly 8.5% growth. Second quarter adjusted EBITDA was USD 1,592 million, up 13% from USD 1,415 million, and adjusted EPS was USD 3.19 versus USD 2.65. RevPAR, or revenue per available room, combines occupancy and average daily rate and is the main gauge of hotel demand. Net rooms grew 4.5% year over year, adding 17,900 rooms in the quarter.

Where Demand Is Strong and Weak

North America carried the second quarter, with US and Canada RevPAR up 5%, while international RevPAR slipped 0.5% and Europe, the Middle East and Africa fell about 5% as conflict in the Middle East cut travel. Marriott raised full-year worldwide RevPAR growth to 3.0 to 3.5%, and full-year adjusted EPS guidance stands at USD 11.64 to USD 11.81. Net rooms growth is tracking toward the low end of 4.5 to 5%. Because Marriott earns most of its profit from fees on franchised and managed hotels, rising rooms and RevPAR lift fee income without heavy Capital spending.

Risks and What to Watch

Owned and leased profit guidance has been cut twice, and Investment spending guidance rose to as much as USD 1.35 billion, both points investors may press on. Two new co-brand Credit card agreements are expected to add about USD 30 million in the second half and USD 100 million to USD 125 million in 2028, according to a published preview of management comments. Marriott repurchased 3.0 million shares for USD 1.1 billion in the second quarter. Booking Holdings (NASDAQ:BKNG) reports on November 3 as a travel read-through. The consumer backdrop is softer after the 1.8% fall in the S&P 500 on October 30.

Where Things Stand

The hotel giant is Marriott International (NASDAQ:MAR), and its record pipeline of 629,000 rooms is the clearest growth fact. North American RevPAR up 5% is real strength, but international softness, a high EPS consensus relative to guidance and cut owned and leased guidance temper the picture. The report before the open on November 2 will show whether the raised full-year RevPAR range of 3.0 to 3.5% holds into the fourth quarter.
