Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ:SPCX), or SpaceX, was trading up 3.70% at $141.41 in today's regular session, a gain of $5.04 from the prior close of $136.37. Shares are recovering from last Friday's eight-month low near $134, with investors focused on talks between SpaceX and EchoStar (NASDAQ:ECHO) about buying Boost Mobile or using its network.
Boost Mobile Talks Offer a Starlink Mobile Route
Verizon (NYSE:VZ), T-Mobile (NASDAQ:TMUS) and AT&T (NYSE:T) declined to give SpaceX access to their networks, which leaves Boost Mobile as the route for Starlink Mobile. Boost's leased network runs on AT&T and T-Mobile capacity, so any transaction has hurdles that the market is weighing.
Starlink belongs to the Connectivity segment, which also holds the government-focused Starshield offering and a broadband constellation of roughly 10,000 satellites. Connectivity produced about 61% of 2025 Revenue of $18.7 billion.
AI Capital Spending and the Cost Side of the Story
SpaceX also operates an AI segment that spans the Grok models, the X platform and large-scale data centers. Heavy AI infrastructure spending produced an operating loss for 2025. Over the weekend Elon Musk defended the efficiency of that capital spending, and the company set Colossus 2 buildout targets and renewed Terafab talks with TSMC (NYSE:TSM).
A research firm puts Fair Value at $70 per share. Trailing Earnings are negative $1.28 per share, the forward price-to-earnings ratio is 40.47 and the 52-week range runs from $104.83 to $225.64. Other items on the risk list are customer concentration with Anthropic, Supply from the lockup and uncertainty around the midterm elections for AI names.
Market Backdrop: Chips Rebound and Industrials Lead
The Nasdaq Composite rose 1.1% today as buyers returned to key technology stocks, and the Nasdaq-100 gained 0.9% while remaining in correction territory about 10% below its recent high. NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) gained about 3% and semiconductor ETFs rose roughly 3%. Industrials were the second-best S&P 500 sector in afternoon trading, up 1.2%. A Democratic sweep in the midterm elections is a risk for AI and data-center names, which includes SpaceX's AI segment.
Boost Mobile Outcome and Colossus 2 Progress Are the Next Markers
SPCX is trading higher on the EchoStar talks and a technology rebound after last week's low. The next items to follow are the result of the Boost Mobile discussions, the Colossus 2 buildout and Terafab talks, and how AI-linked stocks react once the midterm results are in.
