Management outlook and stated risks

Management said on the Earnings Call that the portfolio was only modestly adjusted during the quarter, shifting toward lower-coupon 30-year securities. Management also said that, after quarter-end, book value had declined and leverage had risen, which it said left future dividend and total return sensitive to funding costs and mortgage market volatility.

Investment Takeaway

Management said on the call that it would continue to evaluate portfolio composition and hedge coverage in response to funding costs and mortgage market conditions. The company said it plans to announce its next common stock monthly dividend following its normal schedule.
