  • AvePoint introduced new governance controls to monitor and remediate AI agent security risks.
  • The Confidence Platform expanded backup support across SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS environments.
  • Updates centralise risk visibility through the Data Resiliency Command Center interface.

AvePoint Inc. (NASDAQ:AVPT), a data protection and governance software provider, announced new features for its AvePoint Confidence Platform aimed at strengthening oversight of agentic artificial intelligence systems. The update introduces a new risk definition model for AI agents, allowing organisations to classify and monitor agent behaviour according to internal security and governance standards.

The new capabilities build on functionality previously offered through the AgentPulse Command Center and extend direct remediation tools into the broader Confidence Platform environment.

Addressing Data Quality and AI Governance Challenges

Research cited by the company indicates that data quality remains a significant barrier to the success of agentic AI initiatives. In response, the updated governance framework enables organisations to define acceptable risk thresholds and track AI agents against those parameters.

When issues are identified, users can take corrective action directly within the platform, consolidating monitoring and response workflows into a single interface.

Expanded Multi-SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS Coverage

Alongside AI governance updates, AvePoint expanded backup support for additional SaaS applications, including Okta, Confluence, Jira, DocuSign, Monday.com, GitHub, and Smartsheet. The platform also added coverage for infrastructure and platform services such as Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure VMware.

These data sources are now integrated into the Data Resiliency Command Center, providing a consolidated view of backup status and potential exposure across environments.

Centralised Visibility Through Data Resiliency Tools

The expanded coverage is designed to reflect enterprise environments that span multiple cloud providers and software platforms. By aggregating data protection insights into a single dashboard, organisations can identify where risks exist and determine appropriate mitigation actions.

Ongoing Platform Development

The announcement follows earlier product updates related to Microsoft 365 Backup Storage and reflects continued development of a unified data protection architecture. AvePoint indicated that its approach allows organisations to apply differentiated protection strategies based on data criticality and operational requirements.
