At the 2025 OCP EMEA Summit in Dublin, Flex (NASDAQ: FLEX) introduced its new SmartSense Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) for data centers. This in-rack, liquid-to-liquid design offers a modular, cost-effective solution for managing heat in high-density environments, delivering up to 300kW per rack. The SmartSense CDU is part of JetCool’s portfolio of cooling systems, aimed at addressing the growing demands of AI and high-density workloads that traditional thermal management solutions struggle to handle.

JetCool’s SmartSense CDU allows for scalable liquid cooling, efficiently cooling racks with power densities that are becoming increasingly common in modern data centers. By enabling "free cooling" with inlet temperatures above 60°C, this system eliminates the need for chillers, reducing both energy and water consumption—important factors in today’s environmentally conscious data center designs.

Rob Campbell, President of Communications, Enterprise, and Cloud at Flex, noted that the SmartSense CDU represents an advancement in liquid cooling technology. It is designed to meet the evolving needs of data center operators and colocation providers, helping them scale their cooling solutions quickly and efficiently. The system, when paired with JetCool’s SmartPlate™ cold plates, ensures precision cooling for maximum processor utilization, even in high-ambient conditions.

Flex’s new SmartSense CDU also comes with a comprehensive support package, which includes commissioning, system validation, component availability, and proactive maintenance with built-in telemetry. This helps ensure operational integrity and long-term system performance, allowing customers to maintain optimal cooling conditions throughout the lifecycle of their infrastructure.
