- Over 200,000 images processed into 8,000 assets using AI in hours
- Operational costs reduced through AI-powered asset deduplication and governance
- Custom visual-matching algorithm supports scalable content automation
Google Cloud has partnered with Philips Personal Health Business to overhaul the company’s global content marketing infrastructure using artificial intelligence. Leveraging Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform, Philips processed more than 200,000 marketing images into 8,000 brand-aligned assets in a matter of hours—a task that previously required extensive manual effort.
This collaboration aims to modernize Philips’ marketing asset management by reducing complexity, improving governance, and enhancing consistency across global touchpoints. With a vast and diverse product portfolio, Philips faced challenges maintaining visual coherence and version control across thousands of digital assets.
Using advanced models from Google Cloud’s Model Garden, the new system identifies visual similarities and eliminates duplicates—even across reformatted, resized, or cropped images. The technology not only streamlines current operations but also supports automation for future campaigns, enabling faster content refresh cycles and limiting compliance risks.
The custom algorithm enables Philips to move away from time-intensive manual processes, resulting in operational cost reductions and faster campaign execution. Marketing teams can now deploy brand-consistent materials more efficiently and quickly adapt to changing market needs.
Claudia Calori, Head of Marketing Excellence at Philips Personal Health, emphasized that the initiative improves both compliance and operational efficiency. The move allows internal teams to shift focus from asset management to strategy, consumer engagement, and innovation.
Google Cloud’s Head of Benelux, Joost Smit, highlighted that the solution sets new benchmarks in digital asset lifecycle management by applying scalable AI to real-world enterprise challenges. The initiative opens new marketing capabilities, including more effective A/B testing and curated asset selection for campaign managers.
This project reflects broader adoption of AI technologies in enterprise content operations, signaling a shift toward intelligent asset automation in large-scale marketing ecosystems. Google Cloud’s AI stack, particularly Vertex AI, continues to gain traction as a backbone for high-volume, data-intensive digital transformation efforts across industries.
