ATN International, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATNI) operates telecommunications networks in the United States and several international markets, including the Caribbean and Guyana. Figures come from the second-quarter 2026 release dated August 5, 2026.
Tower Gain Lifts Quarterly Profit
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, ATN reported revenue of $184.5 million, up 2%, and Adjusted EBITDA of $49.7 million, up 9%, with a 27.0% margin. Net Income attributable to stockholders was $167.3 million, or $10.71 per diluted share, driven by a $229.9 million gain on the U.S. tower sale, compared with a loss a year earlier.
The initial closing took place on June 2, 2026, with $267.7 million in cash received and up to $29.6 million more possible over roughly ten months. The company reaffirmed 2026 guidance of $183 million to $193 million in Adjusted EBITDA and $105 million to $115 million in net capex. The company also agreed to sell certain U.S. spectrum licenses. Operating Cash Flow for the six months was $53.5 million, down 11% from the prior year.
Cash Up, Debt Down
The Balance Sheet changed notably. Cash including restricted cash rose to $331.9 million from $117.2 million at year-end 2025, total debt fell to $513.3 million from $565.2 million, and the net debt ratio dropped to 0.91 times from 2.36 times, according to the release. The quarterly dividend was raised 5.5% to $0.29 per share, and the board lifted the repurchase authorization by $15 million to $30 million on July 31, 2026, although no shares were bought in the second quarter.
Operationally, high-speed broadband homes passed grew 21% to 523,400 while customers rose 1% to 140,900, suggesting that conversion of new passings remains a key variable. Segment performance was steady, with International Telecom Adjusted EBITDA of $35.5 million at a 36.9% Margin and US Telecom Adjusted EBITDA of $19.1 million at 21.6%, so the international Business still contributes the larger share of profit despite similar revenue levels. Corporate costs were a $4.8 million drag in the quarter.
Buybacks, Buildout and Asset Sales
Investors may watch whether the company uses its improved Leverage for repurchases, further dividend increases or additional broadband buildout, and whether the net capex guidance range holds. Conversion of passings into paying customers, particularly in subsidized rural areas, could influence the return on investment. The remaining tower proceeds, the spectrum sale and any additional asset sales may also be relevant. International exposure brings currency, regulatory and weather-related risks, and the mobile subscriber base was flat at 386,600. Because the second-quarter profit was dominated by a one-time gain, investors may focus on underlying Adjusted EBITDA and operating cash flow, which was lower for the first half, when evaluating results in the next report. Management commentary on regulatory funding programs may also help clarify the buildout outlook.
Flexibility After the Tower Sale
ATN has moved from higher leverage toward a more flexible balance sheet, with a larger buyback authorization and a higher dividend now available as options. Whether management favors returns, buildout or other uses of Capital will become clearer in future disclosures. The reported net income reflects a one-time gain, and results could differ from guidance.
