NuScale Power Corporation (NYSE:SMR), a leader in small modular reactor (SMR) nuclear technology, has announced the opening of an Energy Exploration (E2) Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York. The new training facility will offer RPI engineering students a first-hand experience in advanced nuclear technology, highlighting its role in the global shift toward cleaner energy solutions.

The E2 Center features a 12-module control room simulator, providing users with real-world nuclear power plant operation scenarios. Students will be able to take on the role of a control room operator, applying nuclear science and engineering principles in an interactive learning environment. In addition to student training, the center will serve as a community education hub, offering demonstrations and tours for local leaders, K-12 students, and the public to enhance awareness of nuclear energy’s benefits.

Funded in part by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Nuclear Energy University Programs (NEUP), the RPI E2 Center is the latest in NuScale’s growing network of training hubs.
