No Announcement Identified as Digital Turbine Shares Drop Before Earnings
Digital Turbine (NASDAQ:APPS) shares are trading down 15.70% today at $8.91, and no company-specific announcement explaining the move was identified. The decline arrives just days before the company reports fiscal second-quarter results and hosts a call on November 2.
Digital Turbine provides an end-to-end mobile platform that helps carriers, advertisers and publishers with awareness, user Acquisition and monetization. It reports through two segments, an App Growth Platform and On Device Solutions.
Shares had traded as high as $15.34 within the past year and as low as $2.74, so today's decline is another sharp swing for a stock that has been volatile across that span.
Fiscal First-Quarter Growth and Raised Guidance Set the Bar for November 2
In its fiscal first quarter, ended June 30, the company reported revenue of $166.0 million, up 27% from a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA rose 69% to $42.5 million from $25.1 million.
App Growth Platform revenue jumped 56% to $56.6 million, while On Device Solutions grew 15% to $110.0 million. Non-GAAP Gross Profit reached $82.0 million, a 49% Margin versus 47% a year earlier.
On a GAAP basis, the company posted a net loss of $3.2 million, or $0.03 per share. Adjusted Net Income was $24.1 million, or $0.19 per share.
The company raised its fiscal 2027 outlook to revenue of $650 million to $670 million and adjusted EBITDA of $145 million to $155 million. For reference, fiscal 2026 revenue was $565.25 million.
Operating cash flow was $17.9 million, and non-GAAP free cash flow was $11.3 million, up from $1.4 million in the prior-year quarter.
Debt Load, Shelf Filing and Valuation Frame the Downdraft
As of June 30, the company held $43.2 million in cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash against about $352.9 million of total debt. In early October, it filed an automatic mixed securities shelf registration, which allows it to sell securities in the future but does not itself indicate a specific offering.
Total Debt of about $352.9 million, less that cash balance, implies net debt of roughly $309.7 million by simple calculation. That is not a company-reported figure.
Before today's decline, the market Capitalization stood near $1.19 billion on the October 23 close of $9.86, with trailing twelve-month revenue of $600.31 million, up 19.2%. The 52-week range runs from $2.74 to $15.34.
Four analysts carried an average 12-month price target of $17.00 before the drop, with RBC Capital at $15 and Roth Capital at $19. Those figures are data points only and predate today's move.
November 2 Report Will Test the Raised Fiscal 2027 Outlook
With no identified catalyst for the slide, attention turns to the fiscal second-quarter report on November 2, when the company can update investors on revenue trends, margins and its full-year targets. Any commentary on debt and the shelf registration may also draw interest. Investors will also look for whether growth in the App Growth Platform, which expanded 56% last quarter, continues, and whether free cash flow keeps improving from the $11.3 million reported for the fiscal first quarter.
