WISeKey International Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:WKEY) is a Swiss-based cybersecurity and digital identity company that operates through a network of specialized subsidiaries. Its portfolio includes SEALSQ Corp which develops semiconductors, public key infrastructure (PKI), and post-quantum cryptography solutions. WISeKey SA, which provides Root of Trust and PKI technologies for secure applications in IoT, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. WISeSat AG, focused on secure satellite communications for IoT networks. WISe.ART Corp, which oversees the WISe.ART platform for blockchain-enabled NFT transactions; and SEALCOIN AG, which develops decentralized physical internet solutions using DePIN technology through the SEALCOIN platform.

The company announced the appointment of Rolf Gobet to its Strategic Advisory Committee. Gobet brings more than 30 years of experience in managing technology-driven public-private initiatives across Europe, spanning sectors such as digital governance, sustainable transportation, and industrial development.

Gobet previously worked with Hewlett-Packard’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) e-government group, where he led a landmark initiative that resulted in the implementation of the world’s first internet-based voting system. This effort was developed in collaboration with WISeKey and has been referenced globally as a benchmark for digital trust in democratic processes.

In addition to his work in digital governance, Gobet has contributed to innovation in sustainable mobility. He was a central figure in the development of TOSA, a fully electric urban bus system that operates without the need for overhead contact lines. The project was delivered through a public-private partnership and included collaboration with ABB, a multinational technology company specializing in electrification and automation, which was acquired by Hitachi in 2022. The TOSA project demonstrated the feasibility of on-the-go charging technology in public transport systems.

Gobet has also played a key role in supporting industrial innovation in French-speaking Switzerland. He contributed to the creation of several clusters of excellence, including the GAIN cluster, which focuses on aerospace technologies. He served for over a decade as director of the Office for the Promotion of Industries and Technologies (OPI), where he supported the growth of enterprises across a range of sectors, from startups to large international firms.

WISeKey stated that Gobet’s background aligns with the company’s emphasis on cross-sectoral collaboration and digitally secure innovation. His experience in fostering partnerships among governments, private enterprises, and academic institutions is expected to support WISeKey’s efforts in applying its technologies across domains such as digital identity, IoT security, blockchain, and secure communications.

Gobet holds a master’s degree from the University of Lausanne and is recognized in Switzerland and Europe for his leadership in steering complex, technology-led development programs.
