Airbnb, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABNB), whose Class A common stock trades on the Nasdaq under the symbol ABNB, has told investors it will publish third-quarter 2026 results on 5 November 2026 after the US market closes. A webcast is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time (5:00 p.m. Eastern) that day, and a shareholder letter will be posted on the company's investor relations website. The most recent set of actual results covers the second quarter, which ended on 30 June 2026 and was discussed on a webcast on 6 August 2026.

Second-quarter results

All figures below are historical and are in US dollars. Revenue was US$3,608 million, up 17% from US$3,096 million a year earlier, or 13% excluding foreign-exchange effects. Nights and Seats Booked reached 148.3 million, up 10% from 134.4 million, while Gross Booking Value rose 16% to US$27.2 billion. Average daily rate was US$184, up 5%.

Net income was US$816 million, compared with US$642 million, and included a US$77 million benefit relating to prior-year taxes. Diluted earnings per share, however, fell to US$1.27 from US$1.37 because the diluted share count increased to 629 million from 597 million. Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, grew 21% to US$1,261 million, a margin of 35% against 34% in the prior-year quarter.

Cash generation and capital returns

Free cash flow was US$1,253 million, up 30% from US$962 million, and trailing twelve-month free cash flow was US$4,827 million. Airbnb held US$12.1 billion of cash, cash equivalents, short-term investments and restricted cash, and a separate US$12.2 billion of funds held on behalf of guests. The company repurchased US$1.1 billion of Class A common stock during the quarter, leaving US$3.4 billion under its authorisation at 30 June 2026.

Buybacks of that scale would normally shrink the diluted share count, yet the count increased to 629 million.

Management's outlook

These statements are management guidance, not outcomes. For the third quarter of 2026, Airbnb expects revenue of US$4.69 billion to US$4.77 billion, or growth of 15% to 17%, including a foreign-exchange tailwind of about three percentage points. It expects Gross Booking Value growth in the mid-teens and higher Adjusted EBITDA, with a margin slightly below the third quarter of 2025 because of the timing of investment.

For the full year, management raised its outlook, now anticipating revenue growth of at least the mid-teens and an Adjusted EBITDA margin of at least 35.5%, with an effective tax rate in the high teens.

Why it matters

Guided third-quarter revenue sits well above the US$3,608 million reported for the second quarter, which fits the summer travel peak. The 5 November report will therefore show whether bookings growth is holding in the mid-teens and whether investment spending is compressing margins as guided. Currency movements also matter to interpretation: part of the guided revenue growth comes from exchange rates rather than underlying demand.

The diluted share count is another item in focus, since US$3.4 billion of repurchase authorisation remained at the end of June.

Non-GAAP Definitions Behind a Mid-Teens Growth Outlook

Non-GAAP measures such as Adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow are defined by the company and may not be comparable with those of other firms.
