Its common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange and NYSE Texas.

Second-quarter results, reported July 28, 2026
CenterPoint reported second-quarter GAAP net income of $244 million, or $0.37 per diluted share, compared with $198 million, or $0.30, a year earlier. On a non-GAAP basis, earnings were $268 million, or $0.40 per share, against $188 million, or $0.29. For the first six months, GAAP earnings were $0.84 per share and non-GAAP earnings were $0.96.
The company attributed the non-GAAP improvement mainly to growth and regulatory recovery, which added $0.10 per share, with a further $0.02 from lower operations and maintenance costs. Weather and usage subtracted $0.01 and higher interest expense subtracted another $0.01.
Management reiterated 2026 non-GAAP guidance of at least the midpoint of $1.89 to $1.91 per share, which it described as about 8% growth on the $1.76 reported for 2025. Full-year 2025 GAAP earnings were $1.60 per share on net income of $1,052 million. Guidance excludes items such as ZENS-related mark-to-market effects and merger and divestiture impacts.
Capital plan and the ERCOT Batch Zero process
CenterPoint raised its ten-year capital plan for 2026 to 2035 by $1.2 billion to $66.7 billion, citing large-load demand in Houston and refined estimates for the Downtown Houston Revitalization project. Notably, the current equity financing guidance was not increased.
The company also updated investors on ERCOT's Batch Zero process for large electricity users. It said it had submitted more than 17 gigawatts of projects and expects about 14 gigawatts to be eligible. Management compared that with Houston Electric's current peak demand of about 21 gigawatts, calling it an increase of more than 65% by 2031, and said the new connections are forecast to cut residential and commercial delivery charges by at least $5 billion over the next decade.
These are management projections. Whether eligible projects are built, and whether the stated customer benefit materializes, will depend on customers' decisions, regulatory approvals and construction timelines.
Dividend and sector context
On September 24, 2026 the board declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.2400 per share, payable on December 10, 2026 to holders of record on November 19.
For sector context, CenterPoint is an S&P 500 constituent, and the index provides a useful comparison for how investors price regulated growth against the wider market.
State Regulators and the October 27 Release
Key risks include regulatory outcomes in each state, the financing burden of a $66.7 billion plan, interest-rate sensitivity, weather and storm exposure, and execution risk on large-load projects. The company's guidance also excludes ZENS-related mark-to-market effects, which can move reported GAAP earnings. Gas distribution disposals also change the earnings mix, so comparisons with earlier periods need care.
The next confirmed event is the third-quarter 2026 earnings release, due before the market opens on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with a call at 8 a.m. Eastern (7 a.m. Central) the same day.
