Accenture has agreed to acquire Industries eXcellence Group, known as IndX, a division of Engineering Group and an established implementation partner for Siemens Digital Industries software. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions.

Headquartered in Rome and Chicago, IndX brings proven expertise across software for discrete and process manufacturers from Siemens. Its specialisms include digital thread solutions that connect engineering, manufacturing, and automation across information technology and operational technology, covering product lifecycle management, simulation and digital twins, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, industrial edge computing, and cloud integration. Its client base spans aerospace and defence, automotive, consumer goods, energy, high tech, industrial equipment, life sciences, and utilities.

The acquisition will be integrated into the Accenture Siemens Business Group, a dedicated global practice formed in 2025 that combines industrial technology expertise with AI-enabled engineering and manufacturing capabilities. IndX's more than 650 professionals are based across Italy, the United States, India, Germany, and several other European countries and Mexico.

Following completion, Accenture plans to establish two new Centers of Excellence for Siemens Digital Industries solutions, one in Italy and one in India. The centres will bring together professionals with expertise in industrial software and advanced digital technologies to help manufacturers improve product design, factory operations, and supply chain management through the combination of Siemens software, AI, and digital engineering.

The deal reflects Accenture's broader strategy of expanding industrial AI capabilities through acquisitions that bring domain expertise and established client relationships. Accenture generated approximately $70 billion in fiscal year 2025 revenue across roughly 9,000 clients and 786,000 employees globally.
