Allegiant Travel (NASDAQ: ALGT) announced a sharp revision to its second‑quarter earnings outlook after completing the purchase of Sun Country Airlines on May 13, 2026. The new guidance reflects the combined performance of both carriers from the closing date through the quarter’s end on June 30, 2026.

Earnings Outlook

Allegiant now expects adjusted earnings per share of at least $1.251 for the quarter, a turnaround from the previously projected adjusted loss of approximately $0.50 per share. Management attributes the uplift to robust passenger demand and a favorable fuel cost environment during June.

Demand Growth

The airline’s total revenue‑generating available seat miles (TRASM) is forecast to rise more than 23% compared with the same period last year. This increase exceeds earlier expectations for standalone Allegiant Air and signals that the merged network is capturing additional market share.

Fuel Cost Advantage

Lower fuel expenditures in June contributed materially to the revised earnings estimate. The reduction helped offset typical cost pressures and reinforced the positive earnings trajectory for the combined operation.

Capital Funding

In parallel with the earnings update, Allegiant secured $650 million through senior secured notes bearing a 7.125% interest rate. The proceeds, together with existing revolving credit facilities, will support fleet expansion, integration costs, and other strategic initiatives.

Integration Progress

The company expects the Sun Country integration to proceed without major disruptions, emphasizing that operational synergies are already materializing. Ongoing efforts focus on aligning scheduling, route optimization, and cost efficiencies across the combined platform.

Outlook and Risks

Allegiant highlighted that forward‑looking statements are subject to operational, regulatory, and market risks, including aircraft delivery schedules, fuel price volatility, and integration challenges. The firm reiterated its commitment to delivering value to shareholders while navigating industry dynamics.
