Total revenues and income came to USD 78.7 million, slightly above a consensus estimate of USD 77.00 million but 32% below USD 115.5 million, because the prior-year period carried USD 53.1 million of income tied to the Pelthos divestiture. Royalty Mix and Cost Lines Shift After the XOMA Deal

Royalty revenue reached USD 70.3 million versus USD 46.6 million, with growth attributed to the newly acquired XOMA Assets and to products such as Filspari from Travere Therapeutics and Ohtuvayre from Merck. Captisol sales slipped to USD 7.9 million from USD 10.7 million on customer order timing, and contract revenue and income fell to USD 0.5 million from USD 58.2 million. General and administrative expense rose to USD 72.6 million from USD 28.4 million, reflecting transaction and integration costs, share-based compensation tied to XOMA and a larger Portfolio Management team. The GAAP loss included USD 39.5 million of pre-tax losses, of which USD 35.7 million came from Fair Value changes in equity-method and other investments.

Guidance Raised on Earnings, Revenue Ranges Held

Ligand lifted its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to approximately USD 9.50 to USD 9.75 from USD 9.00 to USD 9.50. Revenue ranges were left unchanged at USD 225 million to USD 250 million for royalties, USD 35 million to USD 40 million for Captisol, USD 10 million to USD 20 million for contract revenue, and USD 270 million to USD 310 million in total. The company noted that it cannot reconcile forward adjusted EPS to a GAAP figure without unreasonable effort because items such as contingent liabilities, Investment market values and share-based compensation are highly variable. Chief Executive Officer Todd Davis tied the quarter to the XOMA portfolio and Filspari momentum, and pointed to the Ryjunea Royalty purchase and the AvenCell financing as examples of Capital deployment.
