Second-Day AI Rebound Lifts Astera Labs

Astera Labs (NASDAQ:ALAB) shares are trading up 9.50% to $284.16 as AI and chip stocks gather pace for a second day. The Philadelphia semiconductor index extended gains after Anthropic's IPO filing and news of $63 billion in bank financing tied to Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) chips for Anthropic. Astera is up more than the broader chip group, which is up about 2% to 3%, and the Nasdaq, which is up about 1%.

Astera Labs, a fabless semiconductor company founded in 2017 and based in California, designs purpose-built connectivity solutions for rack-scale AI and cloud infrastructure. Its Intelligent Connectivity Platform combines PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, NVLink Fusion and UALink products, including Aries retimers, Scorpio fabric switches, Taurus cable modules and Leo memory controllers, with the COSMOS software suite. The company went public in March 2024 and competes with Marvell (NASDAQ:MRVL), Broadcom and Credo (NASDAQ:CRDO).

Fed Decision and Big-Tech Earnings Set the Tone

The Fed decision and big-tech earnings later this week are also in focus. The net takeaway is that the move reflects sector momentum, and the November 3 report will show whether results meet expectations after the October pullback.
