- Transaction includes manufacturing facility located in Gniezno, Poland
- Acquisition expected to impact fiscal 2025 gross margin and earnings per share modestly
Energizer Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ENR) announced the completion of its acquisition of Advanced Power Solutions NV (“APS”), a previously disclosed transaction aimed at increasing the company’s footprint in the European battery market.
APS manufactures and markets AA and AAA batteries under the Panasonic brand. Its operations span several European countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Spain, serving a broad and established customer base. As part of the acquisition, Energizer gains control of APS’s manufacturing facility located in Gniezno, Poland.
According to Robin Vauth, Executive Vice President, International at Energizer, the acquisition enhances Energizer’s operational network in Europe and adds manufacturing flexibility. Vauth noted that the integration of APS would support the company's ability to meet customer needs while adapting to changes in the broader economic environment.
Financially, the acquisition is anticipated to be modestly dilutive to Energizer’s gross margin for fiscal 2025 and neutral in terms of earnings per share for the same period. The company did not disclose additional financial terms of the transaction in the announcement.
Energizer’s acquisition of APS aligns with its broader strategy of managing a diverse portfolio of energy and automotive care brands. Headquartered in St. Louis, Energizer is known for its range of consumer products including batteries, lighting solutions, and auto care items sold under brands such as Energizer, Rayovac, Eveready, and Armor All.
The integration of APS is expected to expand Energizer’s presence in key European markets and bring operational efficiencies through localized production. The acquisition also reflects ongoing consolidation trends in the battery manufacturing sector as companies respond to regional demand patterns and supply chain considerations.
APS will now operate under the Energizer umbrella, with future updates expected as the integration progresses through fiscal 2025.
